A few months ago, I posited a future where a great deal of education would be outpaced by the application of AI. Though I didn't include a timeline in my thesis, I was probably looking at three to five years in the future.
Fast forward a mere three months, and I find myself standing on the precipice of that very future, not years away, but already here.

It could adjust the difficulty level on the fly, or suggest alternative resources to bridge understanding gaps. Moreover, by analysing physiological cues, like heart rate or eye movement, an AI wearable could even detect when a learner has reached a state of flow, the optimal state for learning, or the converse, when they are overloaded and struggling, and might benefit from a break.
The data received by the Ai Pin could map out a learning journey that is dynamic and responsive.
And it wouldn't just track progress: it would predict and prepare for the learner's needs, offering a truly customised educational experience.
This could mean fewer moments of frustration, and more moments of discovery, keeping the learner both challenged and motivated along their educational path.
By acting as this Mirror, AI wearables like the Ai Pin could align educational content and pacing with the learner's lifestyle, potentially increasing engagement and retention. It is a step towards an educational paradigm where learning is not an activity set apart from life, but one that is integrated, continuous, and centred around the learner's curiosity and pace.
